Local Restrictions Support Grants - Tier 2 Pubs and Bars
The Government announced funding to Councils in England so that grants worth up to £1,500 per 14 day qualifying period could be distributed to businesses with premises forced to close due to the Tier 2 restrictions from 2nd December 2020.
Businesses required to close in Tier 2 are stated in Schedule 2 Part 3 Section 4 entitled ‘Requirement to close businesses selling alcohol for consumption on the premises’.
Businesses that have chosen to close, but not been required to, will not be eligible for this grant.
Businesses required to close in England due to local or national restrictions could be eligible for the following:
- For properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under, grants to be £667 per 14 day qualifying period
- For properties with a rateable value of over £15,000 and below £51,000, grants to be £1,000 per 14 day qualifying period
- For properties with a rateable value of £51,000 or over grants to be £1,500 per 14 day qualifying period
The scheme is only available to those who pay business rates, including businesses who receive Small Business Rate Relief.
