Kettering Additional Restrictions Grants Launched
The Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) application has launched for businesses.
This first phase: ‘Discretionary’, is aimed at Kettering businesses:
- without a rateable value, that were instructed to close during the latest national lockdown
- or those that predominately supply or service these businesses
The ARG is being funded by a one-off Government grant to Kettering Borough Council and offers grants worth up to £3,000.
The deadline to apply for this grant is Wednesday 2nd December, aligning with the national lockdown and to ensure payments are processed before Christmas.
The scheme has been designed to be consistent with the Government’s mandatory Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) scheme, which is aimed at business with a rateable value mandated to close. However, the Additional Restrictions Grant Discretionary focuses on businesses which are not eligible for the LRSG.
This grant scheme is being treated as ‘phase one’ of a longer programme of help to local businesses. Subsequent interventions will be delivered early 2021, in conjunction with other councils in North Northamptonshire and the shadow authority.
