The winners of the annual Open Exhibition have been announced! The response this year was enormous, with over 300 entries for the Open19 and double the entries for the Youth Open19 than last year!

The Alfred East Art Gallery hosts this Open Exhibition annually, and local members of the public, from keen amateurs to professional artists, submit their artwork for a chance at being on display in Kettering’s prestigious Gallery.
The preview event on the opening night was immensely popular, with 300 attendees coming to see the exhibition and awards ceremony. The huge amount of talent from all the local artists this year ensured that the judges had a mammoth task in choosing the winners.

The People’s Choice Award
Perhaps the biggest prize of the exhibition, winning this accolade means one lucky artist is invited to hold their own exhibition at the Alfred East Art Gallery in 2020.
Kettering Museum and Art Gallery are proud to announce that this year’s winner is Stella Benford, with her mixed media piece, ‘Favela Hill’!
Stella is a long-standing favourite amongst the local community and the results show that her work is as popular and in demand as ever.
Runners up in the People’s Choice Award this year were:
2nd Place: Claire Denny with ‘Chilly Morning, Whilton Locks, Northants’.
3rd Place:  Newcomer to the gallery, Jane Cockroft Thom with ‘Vivienne’.

Kettering Museum and Art Gallery would like to say a huge thankyou to all who sponsored the competition.
