Kettering Celebrates Summer

Join us for 6 weeks of FREE fun at Kettering Market Place from Thursday, 25th July

Kettering by the Sea is back by popular demand, bringing you a taste of the traditional British seaside combined with a host of free activities!

The giant sand pit will be open from Thursday, 25th July until Saturday, 17th August every day (except Sundays) from 10am – 4pm at the Market Place, Kettering.

There will be FREE parking in the Kettering Borough Council car parks at Municipal Offices; London Road; Queen Street; School Lane; School Lane Pop & Shop; Wadcroft and Commercial Road on:

  • Friday, 2nd August
  • Friday, 9th August
  • Friday, 16th August

New for 2019 is our Play Days, so don’t fret once the sand has gone as there will be a Sports Day on Wednesday, 21st August and then the Circus rolls into town on Wednesday, 28th August with circus tricks workshop, face painting, craft activities and Acrocirque with performing acrobatics and contortionists as well as an acro and performance workshop for all ages so bring the whole family along to Kettering Market place from 10am – 3pm.

Come along and join in to celebrate National Playday on Wednesday, 7th August with our fun packed programme. Find us in the Manor House Museum, Alfred East Art Gallery and the museum and gallery gardens from 12noon ‘til 3pm, where free face painting, garden games and balloon modelling will be taking place!

Returning to Kettering town centre this year, the Summer Sticker Trail will be in full swing throughout the month! Grab your passports from the Alfred East Art Gallery or Manor House Museum and explore the map to find clues, claim your treat and be entered in our prize draw to be in with a chance to win some fantastic prizes this summer. What’s more, it’s completely free to take part!

Summer playschemes around the Borough are free this year from 29th July to 9th August in Geddington, Broughton, Wilbarston, Burton Latimer, Rothwell, Desborough and Mawsley, showcasing Jack and the Beanstalk show by the Looking Glass Theatre and Steve the Magician Magic Show.

So, grab your buckets and spades and make your way to Kettering Market Place to enjoy magic, theatre, arts and crafts, animals and lots, lots more.
