Changes to bin collections over Christmas

Published: Tuesday, 11th December 2018

All grey bin collections will be suspended from Monday 24th December 2018 and will recommence from Monday 7th January 2019.

A pink tag will be affixed to all black bins on your collection day from week commencing 10th and 17th December. Collections that are due to take place on Christmas Day (Tuesday 25th) Boxing Day (Wednesday 26th) and New Years Day (Tuesday 1st January) will have additional information on the Christmas Tag advising of a change to your day of collection, for example, Christmas Day collections will be on Saturday 22nd December instead.

If you have any questions about your collections, please get in touch with our customer services team.

We will be collecting real Christmas trees from Monday 7th January for two weeks. Please place your real Christmas tree next to your blue or grey bin on your recycling collection day and the crews will take it away to be composted. If your tree is over 5ft tall, you will need to saw it in half.

If you create any additional recycling over the Christmas period that won’t fit in your recycling bin, please present this alongside your blue bin and this will be taken on your usual collection day. All additional recycling bin should either be contained in CLEAR plastic bags or in a cardboard box. All cardboard should be flattened and stacked neatly next to your blue bin.

Additional domestic waste can be taken to the household waste recycling centre at Garrard Way, Kettering. The site will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years day, and will close at 2pm on Christmas Eve.

Commercial Waste

All commercial waste customers whose bins are normally collected on a Wednesday, please be aware your collection due on Wednesday 26th of December (Boxing Day) will be done on Thursday 27th December.
