Crescents Community Centre Open Day: Friday 1st June, 10am – 1pm

A series of open days at community centres across the borough of Kettering is taking place this summer; come along to any of them to enjoy entertainment and receive information. The next open day will take place at Crescents Community Centre on Friday 1st June, 10am – 1pm.

There will be the opportunity to speak to local community services, engage with staff at the centres and enjoy refreshments and activities for all the family.

Come along and ask any queries you may have to representatives from the Police, Neighbourhood Watch, Fire Service and various teams from Kettering Borough Council. Visitors will have the chance to receive free health checks, advice on budgeting and Universal Credit, food safety, hand washing, community safety tips, various fun activities for the children, plus much more!

Following the success of the first open day at Highfield Barnes Community Centre in April, more events will be held at other community centres around the borough:

  • Burton Latimer Community Centre: Tuesday 21st August, 10am – 2pm
  • Counties Community Centre: October, date TBC.

Guy Holloway, Head of Corporate & Cultural Services at Kettering Borough Council, said:

“We’re keen to raise the profile of community centres across the Borough of Kettering. Come along, take part in the free family activities and find out more about the facilities on offer.”

Cllr Scott Edwards, Kettering Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Community, Leisure & Youth, said:

“These facilities are a key hub within a community and it’s important for local people to know what is available on their doorstep. The community centre open days are also a great chance to meet local people and get any advice you may want from local support agencies”.
