Council not connected to planning application

Published: Tuesday, 4th April 2017

Application is in for land to rear of Ise Community Centre

Kettering Borough Council wish to make it clear that it has no connection to a recently submitted planning application for land at the rear of the Ise Community Centre, St Vincents Avenue, Kettering.

The land is owned by the Ise Community Association and by Kettering Borough Council and is currently playing fields. Understandably, there has been a level of concern expressed about the application from nearby residents and users of the playing fields and facilities.

The Council was not consulted before the application was submitted and has no intention of disposing of the land for development.  We are still unclear why the applicant, with whom we have had no contact, has chosen to submit an application for this land when the means do not exist to develop it.

The planning application will be subject to the usual tests, without fear or favour, but the Council remains committed to the current use of the land and retaining ownership.
