KDAS bring new exhibitions to Alfred East Art Gallery

Kettering & District Art Society (KDAS) are seeing Red and Blue with their next exhibition at the Alfred East Art Gallery.

The Society is back at the Alfred East Art Gallery this year with a new concept for us to be challenged by. Members of the society have been asked to produce work in any media featuring one of the two colours as the main feature. Two exhibitions will take place in the Long Gallery over the months of October and November and artists will be restrained to a maximum canvas size of 25 x 30cm; a real challenge for some members.

Exploring Red will go on show from 5th October until 2nd November with a drinks reception on the opening day from 2-4pm. Exploring Blue will then follow starting on 5th November – 3rd December with an opening day drinks reception from 2-4pm.

Guy Holloway, Head of Corporate & Cultural Services at Kettering Borough Council, said:

“Kettering and District Art Society have a long connection with the Alfred East Art Gallery and these two exhibitions are a celebration of local artists’ creativity and huge talent. It is a must for your diary.”

Cllr Jan Smith, Kettering Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Community & Culture, said:

“The exhibition demonstrates the wide diversity from members of one of the longest-standing Art Societies in the UK. There is a plethora of talented artists who are exhibiting presently, so do come along and visit the gallery as we look forward to an inspiring and interesting show.”
