Coronavirus - Helping the Community
Northamptonshire Community Foundation
The Northamptonshire Community Foundation (NCF) is a unique charity which promotes and manages philanthropy. They are the leading independent grant-making charity in the county and are proud to have worked with their fund holders and donors to ensure projects make a sustainable impact on local needs, helping their donors make the most of their charitable giving. They deliver a variety of funding for the local voluntary and community sector awarding grants of over £1million annually and are dedicated to funding community-based action.
NCF has launched a Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund to raise the urgent funds our voluntary groups need to continue providing care and support for older and vulnerable people hit by the social and economic impact of the coronavirus. Donations will be targeted, in the form of grants, at local charities supporting local people facing a range of social issues including social isolation, food poverty, poverty and poor mental health. Emergency Surplus Food Grant
WRAP and Defra appreciate the significant challenges and hard work that many not-for-profit food redistributors are currently facing as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. These essential organisations play a vital role in ensuring surplus food can reach people in need or those considered most vulnerable, whilst also preventing this essential resource from becoming waste. The government has announced a £3 million fund for food redistribution organisations to help them cut food waste.
Sport England have made £195 million worth of funding available to partners, clubs and community groups delivering sport and physical activity who have been effected by the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.
