What are the local risks?
The National Risk Register
The Government publishes a National Risk Register which sets out an assessment of the likelihood and potential impact of a range of different risks that may directly affect the UK.
The National Risk Register is designed to increase awareness of the kinds of risks the UK faces, and encourage individuals and organisations to think about their own preparedness.
The Civil Contingencies Act requires us to produce a Community Risk Register as part of our wider work in preparing for, responding to and recovering from emergencies.
The Community Risk Register
The register takes the national risks and puts a local context to them and is designed to inform you about the key emergency risks that could occur in our County. You can then consider how to be better prepared in your home, your business and your local community. This forms the basis for our local level planning to protect Northamptonshire; we hope you will find our comprehensive approach reassuring.
