Meadow Road Park Improvements

Proposed improvements to Meadow Road Park

Kettering Borough Council would like to improve the Meadow Road Park, using money from agreements negotiated as part of recent local housing developments. Improvements to this important open space will provide a place to play, work out or relax in a town
centre destination park enhanced by the offer of nearby shopping and places to eat.

Park Opening - Summer 2019

Meadow Road Park is set to reopen during the week commencing 5th August, with a new play equipment, footpaths, safety surfacing, lighting, CCTV and natural seating areas installed. The park will continue to evolve over the course of the year so expect to see more additions over the coming months, including:

  • New bank slides
  • New benches including picnic benches to complement the current natural rock seating
  • Sand play
  • Additional fitness zone equipment
  • Further landscaping
  • Fencing to mark the area were dogs must be kept on lead
  • Planting of Silver Birch trees
  • New gateway entrance at the top of Meadow Road

We will provide further information when the second phase of works are underway.

Initial Consultation

A consultation took place during December and January, to hear the views of local people on the proposals, and will be used to influence the final design of the park. The consultation has now closed.

We will provide further information about the planned works as the project progresses. If you require the leaflet in large print, please contact communications@kettering.gov.uk to request a copy.
