Publicity & Consultations

Any member of the public can comment (to make representations) on an application.

All valid applications received each week are compiled in a weekly list, copies of which are sent to Councillors and Parish Councils. Notification letters are sent out by post to neighbouring properties. Certain types of application are advertised by means of a notice placed on, or adjacent to the site, and some may be advertised in the press.

Depending on the proposed development, the Council is required to formally consult with several statutory bodies (eg Historic England, Listed Building bodies, Natural England, Northamptonshire County Council). The local Parish or Town Council will also be consulted.
