Charges for Information

Information contained on the Council's website is free for those with internet access.

Certain information is free to view at our offices, however if paper copies are available a charge may be made in line with statutory guidance or our published Fees and Charges.

Any information made available under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 is free to view at the Council offices subject to it being held in such a format accessible via our Customer Service Self-Service area.  It may not be possible to view all information in this way due to Data Protection and confidentiality issues.  In circumstances where the Council is unable to make the information available for inspection but is able to provide it in an alternative format, copy charges and disbursements will apply in line with our published Fees and Charges.

The majority of requests made under The Freedom of Information Act 2000 are free unless the work involved in retrieving and producing the information would exceed £450.  This is calculated at an hourly rate of £25 per hour x 18 hours.  In such cases a Fees Notice will be provided and the information will not be provided until the relevant fee has been received by the Council.

The information contained in our Publication Scheme is free unless otherwise stated.  Some information does not have to be provided under The Freedom of Information Act 2000 if it is reasonably accessible via another means and it may be chargeable.

Please refer to our Fees and Charges Booklet for a full schedule of charges which are applied by the Council.
