Sports Facility Strategy 2011-2021

Kettering Borough Council has formally adopted the sports facilities strategy for 2011 - 2021.

Huge effort went into making sure that over 1200 residents and 30 organisations were able to contribute towards the development of the strategy, which has been designed to ensure that the borough is planning appropriate indoor sports facilities in the right places to encourage more people to be more active more often.

The evidence they can use from the strategy will be a huge help to sports clubs when they approach Sport England for support in funding applications.

The strategy forms part of the evidence base for providing indoor sports facilities in order to feed information into planning documents, provide evidence to support sports clubs with their applications for funding and to help the Council secure developer and partner contributions.

It is not a list of investments that the Council will be making, it is a policy which guides how external and developer funding can be used in the borough to get more people more active more often.
