All of the car parks (except the Municipal Offices and Queen Street car park) have at least one machine that accepts this method of payment. Please follow the instructions located on the pay and display machine.
Paybyphone is the quick, easy and secure way to pay for your parking using your phone. You only need to register once, and then you can use this service wherever you see the paybyphone signs.
To Register & Pay:
The first time you use paybyphone you need to register your vehicle registration and payment card details. You also need the car park location number stated on the information boards in the car park (see below).

|Blue Badge Holders||
No charge on all car parks however, parking is not permitted in any of the Pop & Shop parking bays marked in red located in the School Lane car park.
If no disabled bays are available, Blue Badge holders may park in a none restricted parking bay i.e. motorcycle or loading bays. A Blue Badge must be displayed with expiry date facing uppermost. There is no parking limit applied to Blue Badge holders therefore the clock is not required.
Pop & Shop (School Lane Car Park)
Specially marked red bays which allow shoppers to park within easy walking distance from the Town Centre for up to one hour for a reduced charge of 40p.
Pay and display tickets for these specific bays must be purchased from the Pop & Shop pay and display machine located in close proximity to the bays.
Please see the tariff board next to the machine.
Where no valid ticket or Disabled Blue Badge is displayed or any other parking regulation stated on the tariff board is contravened an Excess Charge Notice will be imposed. The Excess Charge is £70, reduced to £50 if paid within 14 days.
