Benefit on Two Homes Due to Unavoidable Liability
When people move from one rented property to another sometimes they have to pay rent on both homes for a limited period. In certain circumstances Housing Benefit can be paid in respect of both properties. If you have recently moved into a property and have to pay rent on your old property, as well as the new property you may be entitled to benefit on two homes.
What happens once I have completed the application form?
Each case is considered on the reason for the unavoidable overlap for both properties, and whether the Housing Benefit Regulations permit benefit on two homes for the situation described. If we need further information to support your application we may contact you.
