We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is keen to pursue a career in Health and Safety. You will be joining a partnership team who deliver health and safety, emergency planning and business continuity to Kettering, Corby and East Northamptonshire Councils.
This role provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their knowledge and skills in Health and Safety as well as gaining a nationally recognised qualification. You will be involved in a range of health and safety tasks, such as auditing, training, accident investigations and providing general advice. A training and development plan will be developed to enable you to develop your skills and abilities and progress to a Health and Safety Advisor role.
You must have a basic understanding of current Health and Safety law and guidance, good IT skills, have excellent communication skills, be able to form good working relationships and be able to produce written reports on a range of topics.
Successful candidates will be qualified will have at least 2 ‘A’ Levels / NVQ level 3 or equivalent. In addition you will have the IOSH Managing Safely qualification and at least a one years experience of working within a local authority or comparable organisation. On completion of the necessary qualification and experience outlined in the job description you will progress to SCP 23-25.
Your base of work will be Lammas Road, Corby, however you will be required to work at other partner locations as part of your role.
A current driving licence is required and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
