Job Information

More than 20 per cent of households in Kettering Borough reside in privately rented accommodation and the ending of privately rented tenancies is the biggest cause of homelessness locally. The cost of privately renting has increased in recent years resulting in increasing numbers of people approaching the Council in search of an affordable housing solution.

This post is an exciting opportunity to enhance the Council’s private rented sector offer to landlords, working both strategically and operationally to develop relationships with landlords in order to prevent homelessness and improve access to affordable, good quality privately rented properties.

If you want to make a difference and play an active role in changing people’s lives, then look no further. Situated within the Council’s Private Sector Housing Team, you will also work closely with our Housing Options Team and dedicated Tenancy Support Worker to provide sustainable housing solutions for customers in housing need.

With a minimum of two years relevant work experience in a customer focused environment and experience of working effectively in partnership with a range of stakeholders, you will also have an ability to build rapport with people from different backgrounds and an ability to understand different perspectives. You will be required to have excellent communication skills along with well-developed and wide-ranging negotiating and problem-solving skills.
