Refuse - Household recycling centre: Outline
Northamptonshire County Council is the Waste Disposal Authority, and has the responsibility of disposing of household waste created in Northamptonshire. It manages the disposal of this waste in partnership with the seven district and borough councils within the county.
Changes recently introduced
- Meet and greet service: An appointed person on
site will direct, advise and inform customers upon arrival to ensure
public satisfaction and offer assistance.
- Off-centre reuse shops: These shops are dedicated
to the selling of reusable items which have originated from the HWRCs
where members of the public can browse at their leisure in a more
appropriate setting.
- Extra Materials: More materials such as household
batteries and vegetable oil will be recycled under the new contract.
These new services will supplement our existing waste wood contract
(provided as feedstock for a renewable energy plant) and plasterboard
recycling scheme
