Upmarket Italian chain Prezzo will open up its long-awaited restaurant in Kettering’s Market Place on Saturday, October 13, at 5pm.

The town’s new Italian restaurant will seat almost 200 customers when it opens its doors for the first time next month.

Development has cost £650,000 and the unit will have room to seat 126 inside as well as 72 customers in the outside terraces. The restaurant will specialise in popular Italian cuisine, including pizza, pasta, grills and light options. It also has a children’s menu.

It will be open from 12 noon until 11.30pm throughout the week and has lead to the creation of 20 jobs in total. It is wheelchair accessible and has a specially adapted toilet for people with disabilities.

Prezzo chief executive, Jonathan Kaye, said: “We are looking forward to opening our restaurant in Kettering. I’m confident that Prezzo will prove popular with people of all ages. It will serve the highest quality food in comfortable and stylish surroundings and I’m certain it will be a good addition to the town’s social scene.”

Cllr Derek Zanger, regeneration portfolio holder at Kettering Council, added: “The opening of Prezzo, on the Market Place, is the perfect end to an extremely successful summer for Kettering. We are sure that Prezzo will make a great success of their new restaurant and we look forward to working alongside them to continue to make the Market Place a destination point for visitors to the town. Prezzo will take unit two on the town’s Market Place restaurant buildings.
