Valerie Hitchman, Head of Community Services stated people are already coming down to view the new centre and its great to see so many children already using the skate, BMX and play area facilities.
Councillor Steven Bellamy stated Its a great honour to be able to deliver phase 1 of this brand new facility for the people of Desborough and the surrounding area. It has been a long process and we can finally open the doors of the most modern sporting venue in the whole of the borough of Kettering . Anyone that has visited will agree with me that this is an excellent recreational replacement with many sporting offers. Users will also see how phase 2 has been considered in the design layout for future expansion plans to the rear of the building.
Parkwood Leisure stated We are extremely proud to be working alongside Kettering Borough Council in operating the new Leisure Centre in the town of Desborough. The new Centre is a fantastic facility and we will be working to deliver a range of activities for the local community to enjoy.
The official opening event for the centre will take place at a later date.
