Residents Parking Consultation
Published Monday 3rd November 08
The Council has responded to calls from local residents to consider Residents Parking Controls.
The Council committed itself to only introducing schemes where the majority of residents who responded to the consultation, have indicated their support for the proposals.
Public consultation took place between 29th September and 31st October 2008 and we are now in the process of analysing the responses.
Whilst consultation officially closed on 31st October 2008, if you have not yet returned your questionnaire we would encourage you to do so as soon as possible. The Council wants to ensure that it fully considers the views of its residents in developing these proposals.
Early indications suggest that the following streets do not support residents parking controls.
Of the streets remaining in the scheme, further analysis is required to determine whether the zone is viable. Further streets, or parts of streets, may be removed from the proposed zone as this work is undertaken. This may entail further consultation with the residents of some of the streets affected.
The Council would stress that these results are interim and subject to the further analysis work which is being undertaken.
The Council will be writing to all households in the original consultation areas to advise them of the results of the consultation, during November.
A report identifying the areas where zones may be introduced, subject to any further work and any further consultation, will be submitted to the Borough Council's Executive Committee on 3rd December 2008.
