Q: Do the Council replace broken windows?
Answer:
No, the tenants handbook states that tenants are responsible for replacing the glass in their windows and doors if they get broken. We will board them up and make them safe until you are able to arrange for reglazing.
We may sometimes consider requests for replacing broken glass from elderly or disabled tenants.
The Council recommend a low cost home insurance scheme which will cover the cost of reglazing. You can call 01536 410333 to request an information leaflet.
