Kettering Easy Walks

2nd Sep 10 - 16th Sep 10

A series of 3-4 mile walks from villages around Kettering

Time: 10:30 - 12:00

Location: See below

Cost: Free

September walks: Thursday 2nd: Start from The Warren, Stamford Road, Kettering.  Thursday 16th: Start at 4pm at Boughton House, Geddington - in aid of British Heart Foundation.

What to expect:-  Volunteer walk leaders will introduce themselves, identify the intended route and warn of any 'hazards' along it.  Before your first walk you will need to complete a brief health related questionnaire.  Generally, one of the walk leaders will walk at the front and the other at the back of the group. Both walk leaders have been trained and will carry appropriate equipment.  Walks consist of a gentle warm up walk, followed by a 'more brisk' pace (to get the heart pumping a little), then a gentle cool down as the walk comes to an end.  Each walk varies in time and distance, however most walks will last about 90 minutes and cover 3-4 miles, with stops and breaks. Car parking will be available at all locations.  Under 14 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.

What to wear/bring:-  You should wear loose, comfortable clothing and comfortable footwear, such as trainers, walking boots or sturdy flat shoes - all appropriate to the weather. You may like to bring a small bottle of drinking water with you. Afterwards you will be invited to join the other walkers and the walk leaders for refreshments.

Refreshments available to buy at start and finish of venues.

Walk Leaders - If you are interested in becoming a walk leader, free of charge, contact Shaun as below.
