Northamptonshire Licensing Partnership
Northamptonshire Partnership are responsible for all Environmental Health Licence Applications (excluding Taxi Licensing and Street Trading Consent), in addition to the Licensing Act 2003 and the Gambling Act 2005.
The Partnership is made up of:

Kettering Borough Council will continue to deal with licences for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicles, Drivers and Operators.
The Borough Council's role is to ensure that hackney carriages and private hire vehicles licensed by the Authority are sound and safe and that licence holders are fit and proper persons. Licences are issued for vehicles, drivers and private hire operators.
It is the Environmental Health Departments' responsibility to carry out enforcement on unlicensed activities, and ensure compliance with licence conditions, along with ensuring all complaints received are dealt with quickly and are fully and fairly investigated.

If you wish to become a Street Trader you must gain consent from the Borough Council. Submit your application by completing the Street Trading Application form and returning it to Environmental Health so that consultation can be carried out on your application.
The following restrictions apply with regard to Street Trading Consents and must be considered before submitting any application:
a) the sale of clothing is not permitted
b) no more than four pitches in Kettering Town Centre will be approved for the sale of foods
c) laybys on major trunkroads in the Borough will not be considered as they are subject to clearway orders which prevent trading from them

Kettering is a Charter Market with Fridays and Saturdays being the traditional market days, whereupon it becomes a general retail market providing everything from fruit and vegetables to fish and fashion. The market is held in the pedestrianised area of the High Street.
