Duty Planner Service

The duty planner service is available for general planning advice about small scale proposals such as alterations to your home.

The duty officer will be available between 9am and 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am – 4pm on Friday.  The duty planner service is available by telephone by calling 01536 534316 or in person by visiting the Council Offices.  If the duty planner is not available when you call the customer service centre will take a message and you will receive a call back.

The duty planner will be able to assist with small scale proposals and general enquiries if the customer services centre are unable to answer your query. However, the duty officer cannot provide detailed advice on specific proposals and will not be able to advise whether a proposal requires planning permission or not. For specific advice on a proposal you should use the Pre-application Advice Service, and if you would like to know if your proposal requires planning permission please follow the steps set out under the 'Planning Permission' pages on our website.
