In London it has a dedicated team of thirteen brokers lead by a Director which is the largest group in the market committed to the Local Authority Sector. The Desk currently deals actively with over 360 Authorities.
This Team is able to advise and assist in placing deposits, debt repayments, including strategy and timing, and to take advantage of market conditions for both market and PWLB loans. In addition they have access to the latest information which is invaluable in helping to review and keep up to date Treasury Policy Statements.
For Authorities with substantial funds, under its subsidiary, City Deposit Cash Managers, it offers a Cash Management Service which enables authorities to maximise returns over a longer period. Currently this service is provided to 27 Local Authorities, two Building Societies, one University and one Company, with a total in excess of £560m managed on their behalf. CDCM is one of the leading fund managers in the City.
Cash Funds
Our portfolio of Authorities continues to expand and this month we have already added two new clients for a value of £27m. Our recent article on 18 January sets out an argument for staying with cash in the medium to long term which has provided consistent returns over a number of years.
We understand that one of the Managers in the Local Authority cash fund market is giving notice to their clients for a timely withdrawal from the market.
