Beach volleyball

Would you like to compete in the Urban Beach Volleyball Tournament?

On the 6th to 8th June, Kettering Borough Council and Kettering Volleyball Club will be holding 3 days of trials to find the best beach volleyball players in Kettering, who will then go onto compete in the urban beach volleyball tournament on the 28th July at Kettering Market Place

Head of Community Services, Valerie Hitchman says
“The open trials will enable young people from Kettering to hone their skills before they compete in the Urban Beach Volleyball Tournament on the 28th July. The sand at the new courts is the same sand that was used for the test event last year at the Horse Guards Parade, which means that they will be playing on the same sand as Olympians and World Champions”.

Portfolio Holder for Community and Culture Cllr Steve Bellamy says
“The addition of the beach courts at the National Volleyball Centre means Kettering will be the true home of volleyball in the UK. The inclusion of the beach courts at the National Volleyball Centre will attract more top international players than ever before and we hope to see future Olympians playing and training on our door step.”

All trials will be held at the National Volleyball Centre’s new outdoor beach volleyball courts.

Sessions for children aged 10 and 11 years will be at 10am to 12 noon and sessions for young people aged 14 to 16 years will be at 1pm to 3pm.
