8 May 2012 will see the new Kettering Citizens’ Advice Bureau (CAB) offices opening in Kettering Borough Council’s Municipal Offices on Bowling Green Road.

This move builds on their existing debt counselling service provided at the Council Offices and brings their whole service from their current location.

The new CAB facilities are independent to the Borough Councils and include a CAB reception, interview rooms and office space for the CAB’s staff and volunteers. They will continue to provide support and information on a range of issues including; debt, benefits, housing, legal, discrimination, employment, immigration, consumer and other problems.

From 8 May 2012 the CAB will be open for appointments and drop in Monday to Friday from 9am – 2pm.  Alternatively, assessments or follow up appointments can be arranged by calling our administration line during their opening hours. The telephone adviceline is accessible between 10am – 3pm also Monday to Friday, on 0844 855 2122.

The CAB’s move in to their new offices further demonstrates Kettering Borough Council’s commitment to bring in partners to share its offices for the benefit of residents and users of their services.

The CAB join HMRC, NHS Blood Test Clinic, Northamptonshire Police, Women’s Aid, Accommodation Concern, the Sunflower Centre and Golden Sheaf Credit Union in providing services from Kettering Borough Council’s Municipal Offices.

Valerie Hitchman, Head of Community Services said:  “we are delighted that another important partner has asked to join us in our offices and complement the other services already available.  We look forward to working with the CAB in their new offices.”

Debbie Egan, Bureau Chief Officer of Citizens Advice Services Corby & Kettering said: “Our commitment to providing a first class service will be further enhanced by our relocation into the council’s offices.”

Cllr Steve Bellamy Portfolio Holder for Community & Culture said: “The CAB’s new offices further enhance the number of partners available in our Customer Service Centre and I am sure that the CAB’s clients will benefit from this new location.”
