A Permanent Collection Exhibition in the Small Gallery, FREE. 4 March – 13 May

Now is your chance to take that once in a lifetime trip.

Pack a bag, slap on some sunscreen and see the world, all without the hassle of the airport.

Through 18 frames, follow the journeys of artists from the Art Gallery’s Permanent Collection as they visit Morocco, Japan, Australia and many more of your favourite destinations.

You can even write us a postcard! Do you enjoy receiving postcards as much as we do? We are attempting to send the Permanent Collection far and wide in a branch-off project, Alf Flies East. Visit the Gallery to pick up a postcard and get sending.

Also, take part in an activity that’s not just for kids – draw your own travel-inspired postcard inspired by the artwork of our permanent collection artists.

Evening Flight: Thursday 16 March 6 – 8pm
To accompany the exhibition there will be an evening viewing on Thursday 16 March, featuring the unveiling of the newly-conserved painting ‘Lake Bourget from Mont Revard’ by Alfred East. The debut of which will be followed by a film introduced by Claire de Lorme from Aix-les-Bains.

Guy Holloway, Head of Corporate & Cultural Services said:
“We’re delighted to be able to offer new local artists a space to exhibit their works. Kettering Museum and Art Gallery is always worth a visit to see their ever-changing exhibitions and events.”

Cllr Jan Smith, Kettering Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Community & Culture said: “Don’t miss the evening event on Thursday 16 March, where you’ll get a chance to see the unveiling of the newly-conserved painting ‘Lake Bourget from Mont Revard’ by Alfred East.”
