About the Market Place FAQ's
Answer: Kettering Borough Council, working with its partners, is building a new development of restaurants and quality apartments on an old car park site next to the newly refurbished Market Place. This will see a total of 9,000sqft of restaurant space and 10 high quality apartments come to the area. The work is being paid for entirely from funding attracted from outside of the borough known as the Growth Area Funds.
The work is due for completion in early autumn 2011 and forms part of a much bigger plan to make the area a better place to live, work and visit.
Other planned projects include improving the appearance of Sheep Street, Horsemarket and Market Street (starting soon), a new shopping development in the town, improvements to transportation and road networks, new leisure and cultural facilities and higher quality offices and housing.
