Study

What is the Study Programme?
The Study Programme is an alternative to 6th Form and College for anyone aged 16 -18.

The programme aims to support individuals to maximise their potential to progress onto Further Education or skilled employment- no matter what your previous qualifications or learning

What will I need to do?
All learners on the Study Programme have to take English and Maths Functional Skills, these are mandatory subjects if you haven’t got GCESs at grade C or above already. You will have one core aim to work towards and you will also have to participate in a Work Experience placement.

How do I enrol?
It is very easy to enrol onto the Study Programme. All you will need to do is contact KBT. We will then:

  • Meet with you to have an informal chat to fully understand you and what you want to achieve
  • We will then design an individual leaning plan for you that details your core aim and the subjects you will study
  • Support you to complete all the enrolment paperwork
  • Provide you with your own Learner Handbook that will give you timetable information, contact details of tutors and other useful information

What financial support is there?
Depending on your circumstances you may be entitled to receive support via a bursary:

  • Up to £1,200 per year to support you while you are on the Study Programme
  • Free school meal vouchers
  • Travel
  • Additional financial support (this is at the discretion of the Study Programme Co-ordinator)
