Kettering - Sister City Association

The Association works by a constitution drawn up, and revised as necessary, with the approval of the membership. Each successive Mayor of Kettering is invited to be President, and a Committee to administer the Association's affairs is elected at every Annual General meeting held in May of each year.

In addition to setting out the agreed structure the constitution also sets out the Objectives of the Association, as follows:

"The Objectives of the Association are:-

(i) to promote and encourage cultural and other links between Kettering Northamptonshire, England and Kettering, Ohio, USA; these links need not be restricted to the Sister City Associations;

(ii) to support and extend cultural and other links between the United Kingdom and the United States of America;

(iii) to support and operate within the principals of Sister City International in promoting peace by one-to-one friendship and understanding;

(iv) to organise social and fund-raising activities to support the other objectives of the Association."
