Kettering Town Centre Area Action Plan

Kettering Borough Council adopted the Kettering Town Centre Area Action Plan (AAP) on 6 July 2011.  The document incorporates the binding recommendations of the Inspector and includes minor changes and soundness changes arising during the examination process.

The adopted Kettering Town Centre AAP sets out the vision for a town centre which is 'characterful, distinctive and fun'.  The AAP strategy aims to regenerate the town centre through a framework of eight distinctive but complementary quarters and forms the basis for decisions about the use and development of land in the area. The plan covers the Kettering Town Centre AAP boundary as identified on the Proposals Map.

Inspectors Report

The Inspector issued the final report on the Area Action Plan for publication on 16 May 2011. The Inspector concluded that, subject to certain changes, the AAP was sound, legally compliant,  and an appropriate basis for planning of the town centre over the next 10 years to 2021.  The Inspector's report and accompanying appendices are available to view below:
