Recycling of Electrical Goods, Fluorescent Tubes and Low Energy Light Bulbs

Domestic electrical items (fridges/freezers etc)

Electrical items from domestic premises can be disposed of at your local recycling centre or collected using the Bulk Collection service

Low Energy Light Bulbs and Fluorescent Tubes

Kettering Borough Council advise residents to take fluorescent light bulbs/low energy light bulbs to the Household Waste and Recycling Centre where they should be handed to a member of staff who should then place them into a separate container.

This site is provided by Northamptonshire County Council and is fully licensed to take these materials. All the staff at the site are fully trained and should be able to direct you to the proper container for the CFLs to be placed in.

From the Household Waste and Recycling Centre the tubes should be crushed and the components recycled.  Low energy light bulbs are recycled in the same way as fluorescent tubes.

If you require further information on this site you can call the Waste Disposal Team's Helpline on 01604 237440.
