Public Bins

Throughout the Kettering Borough there are many litter bins that have been placed, within the town centre, on the street, in open spaces and parks too.

The town centre bins are emptied daily, all other litter bins are emptied weekly.

If a bin is over filled or damaged in any way you can report this to us by calling the Customer Service Team on 01536 410333 or reporting it online

As part of the zero tolerance policy Kettering Borough Council employ Generic Wardens who can issue Fixed Penalty Notices (fines which must be paid within 14 days) for people who drop litter, including cigarette ends and chewing gum.

Failure to pay will result in prosecution leading to a fine of up to £2500.

The Wardens will also target motorists who throw litter out of their vehicles. There is an arrangement with the DVLA to pass on owner's details and the owner can be held liable.
