Tenancy Training

Kettering Borough Council's tenancy training courses Move On Move In and New Opportunities, New Skills have been running since May 2006. Since the courses began there have been sixteen courses and over 150 young people and vulnerable adults have successfully completed them. The project aims to improve the life skills of tenants so that they can develop their self-confidence, realise their potential and maintain successful tenancies.

The courses run two nights per week over two weeks and include sessions on budgeting, managing a tenancy, home maintenance, and fire safety.

Information for local authorities

Our tenancy training courses are an excellent example of partnership working as several agencies and organisations have been involved in their design and delivery including the British Red Cross,  Accommodation Concern, and Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service.
