Annual gas service

All Council owned dwellings that have a gas supply have the gas boiler inspected annually. This is a mandatory part of the Council's Health & Safety procedure.

The Council's Environmental Care Section (Based at The Depot, Telford Way) send out appointment cards at least a fortnight before the gas engineer is due to visit your home. When you receive this appointment card you can call us to rearrange the day of the appointment if it is not convenient for you.

On the day of the gas service, if you are not home, the gas engineers will leave a card saying "No Access". You will need to contact Environmental Care immediately to make arrangements so that the gas engineer can access your home. If you fail to do this you will be sent a letter from your housing manager reminding you to call them.

If you fail to contact Environmental Care 7 days after receiving this letter from your local housing manager we will then begin court proceedings to gain access to your home.
