Employment Policies

Disclosure and barring service (DBS)

The Disclosure and barring service (DBS) states that any employee who works with Children and Vulnerable Adults requires a DBS check before they can commence employment with Kettering Borough Council.

The disclosure is a document containing information held by the police and government departments and provides details about a person's criminal record including convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings held on the Police National Computer.

There are two levels of checking, standard and enhanced. All employees dealing with Children and/or Vulnerable Adults will require an enhanced check. Examples of these positions include, Wardens, Play Scheme Leaders, Sports Coaches and Training Co-ordinators working at Kettering Borough Training.
