Information
We promise to process your new benefit/support claim within 5 working days, if you bring in all the required evidence.
Remember to enclose the following forms for you and/or your partner?
Proof of identity (e.g. passport, driving licence etc)
Proof of National Insurance numbers
5 weekly / 2 monthly / 3 fortnightly pay slips or earning certificate
Proof of any occupational or private pensions
Proof of any benefits or allowances
Proof of any bank accounts and capital savings (2 months bank statements, passbooks up to date)
Proof of any other income
Proof of rent (we do not need this if you are a council tenant)
Proof of earnings for any non dependants in your household
Remember we must see the original documents. If you send copies we cannot process your claim.
What do I do next?
Once you have enclosed all your evidence please read and sign the declaration in Part 18 of the application form. Please visit or send the form to one of the Council's Customer Service Centres.
