Benefit CapA cap on welfare benefits will commence in the Kettering area on the 15th of July 2013 and be phased in by Sept 2013, this is an update from what we previously advised; This details the benefit cap as of information held May 2013. Welfare reform is continually changing and if details of the cap change we will update them
Social Room RestrictionFrom April 2013 restrictions will be placed on the Housing Benefit of Working age customers who under occupy their social housing; please see the detailed advice document
Since April 2011 there have been a variety of changes to Housing Benefits in particular Local Housing Allowance (LHA) We have outlined the changes, these are not full details and if you have any queries please contact us.
Tax Credit ChangesThis section provides information and an update on tax credit changes from April 2012.
Personal Independence Payments (PIP)PIP replaces DLA from 2013. Starting in June 2013 new claims will be for PIP rather than DLA and existing DLA cases will generally change to PIP from 2015
Universal Credit A pilot for Universal Credit started in April 2013 and the current national rollout date is October 2013 with all customers being migrated to Universal Credit by 2017.
