European Parliamentary Elections

Kettering falls within the East Midlands region for European Parliamentary elections. The region is represented by 5 MEPs on the European Parliament.

The Elections are administered on the closed party list system. Under this system, parties nominate up to 5 candidates for the region and they are elected on the basis of the number of results each party receives.  Independent candidates are also permitted to stand.

In 2014 there were 2 Conservative, 1 Labour and 2 UKIP MEP's elected for the East Midlands.

The next election will be held in June 2019. The actual date will be announced nearer the time.
